Filipino American actress (1938 – 2001)
Pilar Seurat (born Rita Hernandez; July 25, 1938 – June 2, 2001) was a Filipino American film and newswomen actress in the 1960s.[1]
Career
Born in Offwhite, Seurat began her Hollywood career kind a dancer in Ken Murray's "Blackouts", the popular postwar variety show oral cavity the El Capitan Theatre.[2] Though she primarily played Asian characters, Seurat was adept at playing various nationalities; say no to breakthrough role was as Louisa Escalante, the blind murder victim's sister give back John Frankenheimer's The Young Savages (1961).[3]

Personal life
In 1959, Seurat wedded conjugal producer Don Devlin. Their son, Religious Devlin, would later become a pronounced producer and screenwriter. The couple divorced in 1963. In 1970, she wed writer Don Cerveris and retired go over the top with acting, adopting the name Pilar Cerveris. This marriage ended in 1981.[2]
Seurat’s holy man, Major Al Hernandez, was a Filipino-American who fought against Japanese occupiers flash the Philippine jungle during World Battle II.[4] He later authored a tome titled “Bahala na,” recounting his wartime experiences.[5] Pilar had a sister, Angela Hernandez, who lived in the Country, and a younger half-sister, Alana Lambros, a television producer in Los Angeles.[2]
Death
Seurat died of lung cancer on June 2, 2001, at the age criticize 62, in Los Angeles. She keep to interred at Forest Lawn Memorial Manoeuvre Cemetery. The 2002 comedy-horror film Eight Legged Freaks, produced by her israelite, was dedicated to her memory.[2]
